BACKGROUND/J USTI FICATION:
A portion of the Lefebvre Creek Greenway Trail is located on land deeded to the City as part of the original
Crimson Ponds West development. With the progression of the Boulder Creek project and the completion
of the Lefebvre Creek Greenway within Boulder Creek, a trail connection from 75 1h St south has been
constructed with this project.
During construction of the trail, depths of top soil and water table issues were encountered. To ensure a
stable trail bed for longevity of the trail, additional topsoil needed to be removed and in one area where
water table was encountered pit run and fabric was added to strengthen the trail bed. This caused items 3,
4 & 5 to increase above plan quantities.
Currently, this trail is completed to the stage where proof of turf establishment is all that is left (5% is being
retained to ensure proper turf establishment in spring). The project had a November 15 th completion
deadline but has been substantially completed. The original quote accepted by council is $74,497.80. With
changes required due to poor soils as described above, the final is anticipated to be $82,137.70.
