Staff recommends approval of Pay Estimate #1 in the amount of $10,800.00 for the Exterior Piping
Modifications for Pumphouse #4 to Burschville Construction.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Burschville Construction has completed the modifications to the piping network between Well #7 and
Pumphouse #4. These modifications are necessary to accommodate for the increased pumping volume
anticipated when a larger pump is installed in Well #7 later this winter. Retainage of 10% is included to
ensure that any leaks will be addressed once pressure is restored. Retainage is also withheld to ensure
establishment of turf in the spring.
Currently, test pumping of Well #7 has just been completed. Those findings will dictate the size of the new
pump in well #7 and allow final plans for interior pumphouse modifications as well as plans for pump
installation. Those construction items will be completed prior to next summer's higher flow demands for
the West water system. The Kadler Avenue Watermain project as a whole continues to be within the
budgeted amount.
