Call to Order.
Chair Angie Dehn called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Chair Angie Dehn; Commissioners: Jim Breitbach, Angela Hilde, Kitty Baltos,
Travis Rittenbach, Doug Cassady, Cara Husak, and Derrick Stark.
City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp.
Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Director and Connie Schwecke,
Administrative Assistant
1. Open Forum.
2. Consider Agenda Approval.
Commissioner Cassady motioned to approve the agenda. Seconded by
Commissioner Stark. All in favor. Motion carried.
3. Consider Meeting Minutes.
3.1 August 15, 2017 Regular Meeting Minutes.
Commissioner Stark motioned to recommend to the City Council to
approve the regular minutes as written. Seconded by Commissioner
Breitbach. All in favor. Motion carried.
4. Unfinished Business.
5. New Business.
5.1 Review of Prairie Park Shelter Fees.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant presented and discussed the Prairie Park shelter
fees.
After discussion, the commissioners agreed the shelter would be available to rent in two
hour time slots from 9:00am-9:00pm. The fee would be $10 for residents and $15 for
non-residents.
Chair Dehn motioned to recommend to the City Council a change in the
Prairie Park Reservation Fee Structure to a two hour set time slot from
9:00am -9:00pm charging a $20 fee for residents and a $25 fee for
non-residents. Seconded by Commissioner Rittenbach. All in favor.
Motion carried.
5.2 Review Otsego Skating Rink Locations.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant presented and discussed the new warming
house that was installed.
After discussion the commissioners agreed to keep using Prairie Park as the only ice
rink for the City.
ITEM 3.1
Commissioner Husak motioned to recommend to the City Council to
continue using Prairie Park as the City’s ice rinks. Seconded by
Commissioner Baltos. All in favor. Motion carried.
6. Parks and Recreation Director Update.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant updated the commissioners on the following City
developments and events.
Park and Housing Development
Minn Med Grant
Emerald Ash Borer
Santa Day
Summer Program Guide
Splash Pad
7. City Council Reports.
Mayor Jessica Stockamp updated the commissioners on the Otsego Heritage
Preservation Committee designing historical city park signage.
8. Adjourn.
Commissioner Baltos motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Chair Dehn. All
in favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 8:48 P.M.
