Staff recommends accepting quotes and authorizing staff to enter the City into an agreement for
Pumphouse #4 Electrical Upgrades with the low quote of $19,800.00 from Electrical Installation and
Maintenance Company (EIM) of Fridley, MN.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City requested quotes from 3 contractors. Quotes were received from all of the three contractors and
EIM was the lowest at $19,800.00. Project includes wiring of new 8" mag meter supply and installation of
new Variable Freeway Drive, connection of Pumphouse #4, power to new motor and pump in Well #7 and
other electrical appurtenances.
Quotes were as follows:
Electrical Installation and Maintenance Company $19,800.00
Olson & Sons Electric, Inc. $23,373.00
Gephart Electric $25,200.00
The Kadler Avenue Watermain project as a whole continues to be well within the budgeted amount.

Dear Kurt Neidermeier,
Please consider the following proposal for the work specified in the email sent on February 22nd and
updated on March 5d' utilizing the existing MCC breaker.
Specified scope of work for a lump sum of $19,800.
Alternate deductive price to mount the Flow Meter Display on the wall next to the control panel in lieu of
the stand mounted transmitter display unit. This assumes manufacturer cable is long enough and will fit in
existing conduit from control panel to area if new flow meter.
Alternate scope deductive price for wall mount display is $1,500 from above base bid amount.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding above scopes of work. Expiration of this proposal
is 4/6/18. We look forward to hearing back from you.

Clarifications:
All conduits are in Galvanized rigid to match existing.
All junction and device boxes are cast.
We are excluding any electrical utility shut down fees, are flash study and are flash stickers.

Dear Mr, Neidermeier,
Gephart Electric is pleased to offer this proposal for the electrical work on the above referenced project.
We propose to furnish and install the following work in strict accordance with the National Electrical Code;
as outlined in this proposal; and per electrical plan sheets E1- E3 as prepared by Hakanson Anderson
dated 02/2018 with Addendum #1.
Inclusions:
• Remove existing VFD and turn over to owner
• Remove existing pump control cable/ wiring
• Provide Allen-Bradley VFD in enclosure as specified
• Connect to existing 150A 3P breaker as per Addendum #1 information
• Provide VIK or MTE dv/dt filter in enclosure as specified
• Provide new power and control conductors in existing underground conduits to pump as per plan
• Modify existing 120V duplex into four-plex receptacle as per plan
• Dedicated 120V four-plex receptacles as per plan
• Provide 120V to flow transmitter
• Provide empty conduit from existing MCC to Control Panel as per plan
• Provide Unistrut mounting stand for flow transmitter as per plans
• Provide conduit and control cable/ wiring to flow transmitter as per plans
• Lot electrical material tax and permit fees
Exclusions:
• Xcel electric utility construction charges
• Extra labor to cut frost if winter construction
