4-10-18 Otsego Heritage Preservation Commission
Present: Toni Seroshek, Zonja Matushenko, Chris Wilson, Gail Anderson;
Mayor Jessica Stockamp and Council Member Corey Tanner
Chair Toni called the meeting to order at 7:OOpm. Minutes of the last meeting
were approved.
Election of 2018 Officers:
It was moved and seconded that officers for 2018 be reinstated from the slate of
officers from 2017 as follows: Chair, Toni Seroshek; Vice Chair, Zonja
Matushenko; Secretary, Gail Anderson; Chocolatier, Chris Wilson. This motion
passed unanimously after some discussion.
Park Signs:
Chris Wilson contacted Jim LeFebvre and he says he will send some history for a
Park Sign at LeFebvre Park. Chris will receive emails or phone numbers from
Jessica for both Gordy and Al LeFebvre for further checking of the history of the
LeFebvre family. Also, Chris brought a 16X20 inch paper to put up to the map of
Otsego we are going to use for the Festival this year focusing on our 11Parks. It
appears that size will work with the size of our map. The large map of Otsego will
need to be secured to the back of the Festival tent with zip locks or/and clamps
which we already have.
Otsego View Article for this issue is due April 23. Corey volunteered to write
something about the Heuring family by interviewing Rick Heuring whom he
knows. He will include a picture of the old brick house which still exists off the
Roundabout on 70th or County Hwy 38. He will send it to Zonja or Gail for editing.
Archives
Toni and Zonja discussed what systems should be used for archiving. There will
be a searchable list for the printed material using Access. Zonja will archive the
Pictures. There is not a system we can afford which would combine the two. Our
ultimate goal would be to have these on the Otsego site so that anyone searching
a name or historical material could access them directly from the internet, but
that is not possible currently
Zonja will probably come in early to scan pictures on meeting nights and Toni will
work on the printed material on Mondays or Fridays. Toni will put Office365 on
the office computer. The old computer has been removed from the office.
Concern; Toni is very concerned that she has found the office unlocked on some
occasions.
She has talked to Connie about this and Jessica will re -enforce the request with
Parks and Rec.
Meeting adjourned at Bpm. Next meeting will be Tuesday, May 8 at 7pm.
