Otsego Heritage Preservation Commission Minutes
July 9, 2013
Present: Toni S rose , Chris Wilson, John Noll, Jamie Plantenberg-Selbits h a, Mayor Jessica Stockamp
Chair Toni Seroshek called the meeting to order at 7:0prn. Prairie Center Update was added to the
agenda. April and June minutes were approved. Toni will find out what we need to do about the May
minutes as we met at the old school house.
Prairie Center Update: City Council approved budget(furniture not included). HPC office door moves
and wall is expanded. Rather than moving everything out, we can move our stuff to one side of the
room and put a tarp over it. Perhaps we can get onnie's desk?
Prairie Festival and Park ins: Festival runs from 10- : op , 5:30pm is the headliner band. we will run
our booth from 10- pry. Our theme this yris Schools. we have lots of school pics and we are going
to include Otsego Elementary and Kaleidoscope. Chris and Gail will start gathering info. Chris will call
Kaleidoscope and Jamie will call OES. Jessica will invite Kira to our next meeting. Chris rade the motion
to get the Prairie Park sign up for the festival, Jamie seconded, approved and motion passes. We will
reapply next year for grants to complete additional signs. The group will approve proofs before
production.
HPO Conference: Gail, Oris and John will he at the SHPO conference in Lanesboro right before the
festival. City pays tuition and mileage — you pay for hotel.
School House: City staff will speak to CAER (as motioned by Chris and seconded by Jamie) if they could
use the building. There can be very limited use for the building. Josh Duke, Otsego resident, might be
interested in the property. Either developing into a rental property with the outside remaining
historically accurate or move the building to his property.
Meeting adjourned at ;1 pm. Text meeting will be Tuesday, August 12th at 7pm.
