local non-profit organizations
to raise awareness about the
dangers of distracted driving
by bringing distracted driving
simulators and education to
area high schools and sharing
information at community
events.

Safe Driving policy last year
that bans all cell phone use,
including hands-free, by
employees while driving on
work time or when being
reimbursed for mileage,

Inpatient Geriatric Behavioral Health Care
The Geriatric Behavior Health Unit at CentraCare Health —
Monticello opened in 2017 to provide comprehensive, 24/7 inpatient
medical and psychiatric care to patients 55 and older who require
a secure environment for optimal treatment and management of
complex mental health conditions including depression, bipolar
disorder, schizophrenia and dementia.
The Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit provides a confidential and safe
environment for patients to receive expert care. The I 0 -bed, locked
unit is equipped with appropriate safety requirements, professionally
trained staff and video surveillance to care for individuals in a safe,
compassionate environment. Complementary care including music
therapy, baking and cooking, aromatherapy and art are supported
through generous donations to the CentraCare Health Foundation —
Monticello.
Reducing the Cost of Surgical Care
The Monticello Surgery Center opened in 2017 to offer patients
convenient, cost-effective same-day surgical care close to home. A
partnership of CentraCare Health — Monticello, North Memorial
Health Care, Stellis Health and independent surgeons, the Monticello
Surgery Center specializes in outpatient surgeries and procedures.
This specialization benefits patients with lower costs, transparent

Investing in Patient -Centered Design
CentraCare Health — Monticello recently unveiled a new lobby and
front entrance with modern amenities and patient -centered design
to improve access to care. The new lobby features contemporary
furniture and lighting design, digital signage for information on local
wellness events and hospital updates, and convenient access to the
information desk and admitting for patient appointments.
The Gift Gallery was also beautifully transformed to provide
shoppers an exclusive selection of boutique clothing, unique jewelry,
home decor, greeting cards and more. Proceeds from the volunteer -
run Gift Gallery help support care enhancements for patients,
residents, family members and visitors at CentraCare Health —

Comprehensive Care for Moms and Babies
CentraCare Health — Monticello is proud to partner with St. Cloud
Hospital to provide perinatology services in Monticello to support
high-risk pregnancies, close to home.
Expectant moms who may need additional monitoring during their
pregnancy can now receive perinatology services including first
trimester ultrasounds, fetal echocardiograms, non-invasive prenatal
testing, genetic counseling and one-on-one telehealth consults with a
perinatologist from St. Cloud Hospital to support the health of both
mom and baby.
Mothers also have a new choice for comfort during labor and delivery
with the introduction of nitrous oxide. The nitrous oxide offered
during labor is a mixture of 50 percent nitrous oxide and 50 percent
oxygen which is a different blend than what is commonly known
as laughing gas used in dental offices. The nitrous oxide is delivered
through a mask held by the laboring mother putting her in charge of
