City staff has just received notice that the Pour Wine and Bistro is requesting approval to hold a wine
tasting at the Otsego Prairie Postural on September 14, 2013. Which appears would be permitted if
approved by the City Council. Statute 340A.404; Subd. 4 states the following:

1. The governing body of a municipality may authorize the holder of a retail on -sale intoxicating liquor
license issued by the municipality or by an adjacent municipality to dispense intoxicating liquor at any
convention, banquet, conference, meeting or social affair conducted on the premises of a sports,
convention r cultural facility owned by the municipality or instrumentality thereof. The licensee must
be engaged to dispense intoxicating liquor at an event meld by a person ororganization permitted to use
the premises and may only dispense intoxicating liquor to persons attending the event. A licensee may
not dispense intoxicating liquor to any person attending or participating in an amateur athletic event.
City staff is working with the business owner on an agreement that will be provided to you for your
consideration at the City Council meeting.
