5-8-18 Otsego Heritage Preservation Commission
Present: Zonja Matushenko, Chris Wilson, Gail Anderson;
Councilman Corey Tanner
Vice Chair Zonja called the meeting to order at 7:10pm. Minutes of the last
meeting were approved.
Park Signs
Chris spoke with Gordy LeFebvre regarding getting a summary of the LeFebvre
Family history but he was not interested. Corey will talk to another LeFebvre
family member at his work because she seems interested in accessing the history.
This information is needed to prepare the LeFebvre Creek Park sign. We also
would like an article on the family for the Otsego View newsletter.
The popularity of the dog park was discussed. Commissioners & Corey talked
about whether we might want to put up a park sign there. Gail will contact
Dan Licht about the history of the dog park and whether there is a legitimate
reason to put a sign there besides the fact that it is well -used.
Otsego Festival
OHPC has its booth planned, but is unsure of sizing. Chris will ask Ross Demant if
a canopy can be set up in the back room of the council space so that we can
construct our display which features City Parks. We will then use zip ties or
clamps to attach the enlarged Otsego Map on our wall to the canopy. Each Park
will be featured with a tie to the location on the map. Our theme is City Parks.
Archives
A discussion of archiving further will be postponed until Toni is present.
Otsego View article
We agreed that the article for the Otsego View written by Rick Heuring at the
request of Corey on the Heuring family was excellent. Corey reminded us all to
look at the new City of Otsego website.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:50pm. Next meeting is June 12, 2018 at 7pm.
