BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Staff has identified two additional large patches that need to be completed due to the condition of the
pavement. These patches are sections of road that we have done significant patching on in the past and
will continue to be an area of concern in not.replaced soon. The two areas being recommended for a 2"
mill and overlay are:
• Rivers Glen, 92nd Street east of Odean Ave. Appx. 7,405 sq. ft.
• Sunray Farms entrance around the island, 73 d Street/Lambert Ave. Appx. 15,500 sq. ft.
Staff has requested and received quotes from Omann Bros. Paving, Inc. and ACS (Asphalt Concrete
Solutions) in the amount of $28,897.10 and $41,888.00 respectively. Omann Bros. Paving, Inc. was the low
quote for this project and we are receiving a cheaper price/yard for this project versus our first patching
project because it is slightly larger in scale. Funding for the project will come from the 201 Pavement
Management Fund and the combined total for the two recommended patching projects so far this year is
$52,772.95 which is under the 2018 Contracted Patching budget of $63,000. The Public Works
Subcommittee was presented with this information at it's June 20th meeting are recommended that it be
placed on consent agenda.
