No Held by Planning Commission 18 June 2018 BCK6ROC1NpfJUTIFICI?TIiN ' " f The City has contracted with Sterling Codifiers to review and update the City Code. The City Code includes the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance. The scope of the codification project includes updates for references to State statutes and rules and consistency among the various sections and cross references. The scope of the review does not include substantive changes to the ordinances adopted by the City relative to their intent, application, or effect. Rather the recodification is restating and reorganizing the ordinances adopted by the City to ensure they are up to date and to improve access. City staff worked with Sterling Codifiers on the project to provide direction on the format of the City Code and address questions or provide comment to ensure consistency with the effect of the adopted ordinances. The proposed City Code consists of 11 chapters, now to be referred to as titles. Once approved by the City Council, the City Code will be available at City Hall and on-line at the City's website via a link to Sterling Codifier's website. The online access to the City Code will be greatly improved from the current .pdf format on the City website with hyperlinks for cross references and searchable format. Due to the size of the City Code, the full set of updated ordinances is provided for review by the public, Planning Commission, and City Council on the City's website at under the links to the Planning Commission agenda packet for the 18 June 2018 meeting. While the recodification of the City Code does not involve substantive changes to the existing regulations, a public hearing is required for any amendments of the City's development regulations. A public hearing to consider the recodification of the City Code was held by the Planning Commission meeting at their meeting on 18 June 2018. There were no public comments and no Planning Commission discussion. The Planning Commission closed the public hearing and voted 5-0 to recommend approval of the proposed City Code recodification. ■ Ordinance 2018-04 POSSIBLE MOTION PLE/SEWORD MoTI©N ASYOU,WpUCD L({ElTTO,APPgR (N TIIEJVI1NlJTES, -;., v Motion to adopt Ordinance 2018-04 enacting a code of ordinances for the City of Otsego amending, restating, revising, updating and codifying the Zoning and Subdivisions Ordinances as well as the other ordinances included in the City Code.
