ITEM 3.3D Parks 7.17.2018 MinutesITEM 3.313 OTSEGO PARKS AND RECREATION Beaudry Meadows Park July 17, 2018 6:00 PM Call to Order. Chair Angie Dehn called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Roll Call: Chair Angie Dehn; Commissioners: Angela Hilde, Kitty Baltos, Derrick Stark, Doug Cassady, Jim Breitbach and Travis Rittenbach. Absent:Cara Husak City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp. Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Director, Nick Jacobs, Parks Maintenance Operator II, Curtis Huettl, Parks Maintenance Seasonal, Amy Stemler, Recreation Lead Staff and Connie Schwecke, Administrative Assistant 1. Open Forum, 2. Consider Agenda Approval. Chair Dehn motioned to approve the agenda. Seconded by Commissioner Stark. All in favor. Motion carried. 3. Consider Meeting Minutes. 3.1 June 19, 2018 Regular Meeting Minutes Commissioner Stark motioned to recommend to the City Council to approve the June 19, 2018 regular meeting minutes as written. Seconded by Commissioner Hilde. All in favor. Motion carried. 4. Unfinished Business. 5. New Business. 5.1 Eagle Scout Project. Braeden Hecker presented his project to create and plant a Pollinator Garden in Wilson Preserve. After the discussion, the commissioners approved Braeden Hecker's Eagle Scout Project. Commissioner Baltos motioned to recommend to the City Council to move forward with the Eagle Scout Pollinator Garden at Wilson Preserve. Seconded by Commissioner Cassady. All in favor. Motion carried. 5.2 HKGI Presentation on Parks and Recreation System Master Plan. Gabrielle Grinde from HKGI presented the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. Goals, maps, schedules and survey questions were reviewed. The commissioners were asked to discuss (in small groups) and then to present to the entire group what they believed the City's strengths and weaknesses were. After discussion, the commissioners agreed to proceed with the questions for the public survey. 6. Parks and Recreation Director Update. 6.1 Parks and Recreation Director Demant, Parks Maintenance Operator, Nick Jacobs Recreation Lead, Amy Stemler and Administrative Assistant Connie Schwecke gave updates on park projects and summer recreation programs. 7. City Council Reports, 7.1 Mayor Jessica Stockamp gave an update to the commissioners. 8. Adjourn. Commissioner Breitbach motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Cassady. All in favor.
