Staff recommends that we have ACS (Asphalt Concrete Solutions, Inc.) complete the remainder of the 2018
crack filling project.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Earlier this year, ACS completed the crack filling of streets that were going to be getting a seal coat or a fog
seal. They put down approximately 15,349 pounds rubber at $2.35/Lb. which equated to $36,072.50 of our
2018 budget of $76,500.
There is approximately $40,427.50 remaining in our crack filling budget which staff would recommend the
crack filling of additional streets throughout the city. This second project would allow the application of
approximately 17,203 Lbs. of sealant. ACS has confirmed that they will honor the spring crack filling
material quote of $2.35/Lb. for the sealant to be applied later this fall.
Staff recommends to have ACS complete the additional crack filling not to exceed $41,427.50. The Public
Works Subcommittee was presented with this information at the August 15th meeting and recommended
that this be placed on consent agenda.
