for work completed on the Kadler Avenue and 73rd Street Improvement Project.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
All roads have been graded to subgrade. Boulevards are at or near finish grade. Only the ponds remain to
be graded and that will occur later during the project when they can "double haul" i.e, haul aggregate for
the street base onsite and leave loaded with the excess material off site. Approximately Y2 of the sanitary
sewer has been installed. Water and Sanitary sewer are anticipated to be complete by September 7th
Pay Estimate #2 is for $215,060.57.
Pay Estimate #2 includes Change Order #1. This change order was necessary due to the wetland and storm
pond along the west side of Kadler Avenue, just north of 70th Street was too wet to install silt fence as
planned. The water elevations required Sediment Control Logs/Bio-Rolls to be placed for approximately
340 feet in two layers. Two layers is required by the NPDES Permit to provide additional protection for the
wetland. The float curtain was necessary due to the water elevation in the storm pond. This float curtain
will also provide protection while reconstructing the storm pond outlet structure as well as multiple inlet
pipes. Change Order #1 is in the amount of $5,615.75. This does not reflect that approximately 1,085' of
silt fence is eliminated @ $1.60/LF thus saving $1,736.00.

In accordance with the terms of this Contract, you are hereby authorized and instructed to
perform the work as altered by the following provisions:
Station 3+00 to 7+50, west side of Kadler Avenue -- the wetland and storm pond are too wet
to install two layers of silt fence as shown in the plans. Bio -rolls shall be installed in wetland
areas where silt fence cannot be placed. A floating silt curtain shall be placed in the storm
pond in lieu of silt fence. All labor and materials associated with this work shall be paid as
Lineal Feet of Bio -Roll or Floating Silt Curtain.
