BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Section 7-2-2.A of the City Code authorizes establishment of no parking zones on City streets. The City has
posted a portion of Odean Avenue south of 70th Street (CSAH 38) as a no parking zone. This street is a rural
section gravel roadway with a width of 24 feet that is adjacent to and provides access to a DNR Wildlife
Management Area. Parking of vehicles on both sides of the roadway may limit access to the area for
emergency vehicles and may also create conflicts with abutting private property. City staff has prepared a
more detailed exhibit showing the designation of the no parking zone to aid in enforcement if necessary.

COUNTY OF WRIGHT, MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A NO PARKING ZONE ON A SEGMENT OF
ODEAN AVENUE SOUTH OF 70TH STREET (CSAH 38).
WHEREAS, Odean Avenue south of 70th Street (CSAH 38) is a rural section
gravel roadway; and,
WHEREAS, this segment of Odean Avenue does not have adequate width to
allow for on -street parking of vehicles adjacent to the Department of Natural Resources
Wildlife Management Area abutting the roadway; and,
WHEREAS, on -street parking of vehicles this segment of Odean Avenue may
cause congestion on the public street and reduce access by emergency vehicles, which
is a risk to public health safety and welfare; and,
WHEREAS, Section 7-2-2.A.1 of the City Code authorizes the City Council to
designate parking zones by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the west side of the
segment of Odean Avenue shown on Exhibit A within the City of Otsego shall be
designated as a no parking zone.
