Staff recommends approval of resolution 2018-61 accepting donations for sponsorship of the 2018 Otsego
Prairie Festival.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Otsego Prairie Festival was held on September 15, 2018 with an estimated attendance of 5,000 people.
There were over 100 vendors and over 130 car show participants.
In order to provide a variety of affordable activities for all ages the Festival Committee works with area
civic groups and businesses to provide monetary donations and volunteers.
Groups that donated over $2,000 of in-kind services included Minnesota Equipment, Healing Hands Family
Chiropractic, Design KW. Over 80 volunteers from various organizations helped to make the Festival a safe
and fun event. These organizations included Otsego Rod and Custom, Otsego River Riders, Cub Scouts Pack
90, Otsego Lions, and Boy Scout Troop 390, Special Olympics, and The Bank of Elk River.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR SPONSORSHIP OF THE
2018 OTSEGO PRAIRIE FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, The following Sponsors have made cash donations to the City
of Otsego for the 2018 Prairie Festival; and,

WHEREAS, the donation to the City of Otsego is for the purpose of
supporting provisions of community events in Otsego; and,
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 465.03 requires that all gifts and
donations or real or personal property be accepted only with adoption of a
resolution of the governing body; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego sincerely thanks the before mentioned
businesses and community organizations for their generous donation and for their
support of the community; and,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Otsego, Wright County, Minnesota that the aforementioned donations are
hereby accepted.
ADOPTED this 24`x' day of September, 2018 by the City Council of the
City of Otsego.
