Staff recommends approval resolution 2018-71 authorizing Hakanson Anderson to commence preparation
of plans and specifications for a lift station located in the southeastern area of Magnolia Landing.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
With the approval of the final plat for Magnolia Landing, the City of Otsego will obtain land at the location
required for the permanent location of Lift Station #7 in accordance with the Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer
Study for the Otsego West Sewer District.
The current Lift Station #7 was constructed in 2007 in the south east corner of Otsego Preserves and was
considered an interim lift station. Due to its interim nature, location, and limited service area, the lift station
was constructed and paid for by the developer of Otsego Preserve.
Permanent Lift Station #7 will not only service portions of existing Otsego Preserves and all of Magnolia
Landing, it will service an additional 115 acres. A preliminary project cost estimate for the lift station is
$266,969.

RESOLUTION NO. 2018-71
RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR LIFT STATION #7.
WHEREAS, a resolution of the City Council adopted the 22nd day of
October 2018, ordering Hakanson Anderson to prepare plans and specifications
for the public improvements including removal of interim lift station #7 within
Otsego Preserves and construction of permanent lift station #7 within Magnolia
Landing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OTSEGO, MINNESOTA:
1. Hakanson Anderson is hereby designated as the engineer for this
improvement, and are hereby directed and authorized to prepare plans and
specifications for the making of such improvement.
Adopted by the council this 22nd day of October, 2018.
