AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval for Hakanson Anderson to prepare plans and specifications for the 2019 Street Preventative Maintenance project. No No BACKG RO U N D/J U STI F I CATI ON: The City of Otsego, as part of the ongoing Street Management Program, completes an annual street maintenance project to extend the useful life of the streets under the jurisdiction of the City. The 2019 Street Maintenance Project includes seal coating, fog sealing, crack -filling and striping. The Street Management Program which is part of the Capital Improvement Plan for the City of Otsego has estimated this year's project to cost $444,869. Attached is an exhibit showing streets which are currently proposed for maintenance in 2019. Quotes for any larger patching that exceeds City Staff's capabilities and crack filling will be obtained separately at a later date after the thaw has revealed any issues. Those quotes will be brought before council after they have been obtained. With approval to complete the plans and specification, the City Council should expect plans and specifications available for approval and authorization for advertisement for bid on February 11, 2019. The project could potentially be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder at the March 11, 2019 City Council meeting.
