10-9-18 Otsego Heritage Preservation Commission
Present: Toni Seroshek, Gail Anderson, Zonja Matushenko,
Corey Tanner, Council Member, Jessica Stockamp, Mayor.
Guests: Barb Fisette, Rick and Patty Heuring, and Barb Fisette.
Meeting was called to order at 7:08pm. Our guests presented
some materials from their family histories, the Heurings and
the Dehens, along with some pictures of family homesteads.
They also gave us a couple pages of history on the Dehens. We
will use this material for an article in the Otsego newsletter,
due date October 22. Gail will put the article together and
check it out with Barb and Rick for accuracy.
Review of Otsego Prairie Festival
The Commissioners were pleased with our display but had the
following observations: A squared off tent with a tight
enclosure doesn't invite people to come in as much as a flared
arrangement might. The program listed our booth as OHPC
which doesn't mean much to most people. It should be listed
as Otsego History booth, or something more descriptive.
Location was ideal and we would want that location again if
possible. We need an interactive device with attendees to
generate more interest. The tent was good; we did need Corey
to go get some gorilla tape to hold up the exhibits. The
Committee is trying to figure out whether to have two prime
times: daytime and nighttime and whether to schedule
anything between those or not. Fireworks were well attended.
Time for the next meeting was tentatively set for Thursday,
November 15th at 7 pm.
