(diesel). After the test period and further research, staff has identified additional tasks that the ProGator Is a distinctive, connected community known for its beauty and natural surroundings. AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: City staff is recommending that the City Council approve the purchase of a utility vehicle equipped with cab and sprayer equipment. No No BACKG R O U N D/J U STI FI CATION: The 2019 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) vehicle replacement schedule identifies #48 John Deere Gator for replacement in 2019. While researching replacement options, staff tested a John Deere ProGator 2030A (diesel). After the test period and further research, staff has identified additional tasks that the ProGator would be suitable for, which includes the tasks that #47 John Deere 4720 Tractor currently fulfills. For this reason, staff is recommending that the 2030A ProGator replace both #48 John Deere Gator and #47 John Deere 4720 tractor. Another feature of the ProGator, is the ability to detach the dump box and attach an herbicide sprayer. This sprayer would allow staff to provide herbicide applications on turf, roads, and trails. This allows for more accurate application rates and focused applications when the operator slows down to maneuver around obstacles, or when traveling at higher speeds when spraying along the trails or streets. Staff has requested state contract pricing from Frontier Ag & Turf and received a quote of $57,821.59. Staff will be placing both #48 John Deere Gator and #47 John Deere 4720 tractor on the GovDeals auction site to sell the respective equipment.
