AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the Plans and Specifications and Order Advertisement for Bids for the 2019 Street Maintenance Project, City Project No. 19-01. ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? ISA PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED? No No BACKG ROUN D/J USTI FI CATION: Attached are plans for the 2019 Street Maintenance Project. The project includes seal coating, fog sealing, traffic control and striping. Quotes for any larger patching that exceeds City Staff's capabilities and crack filling will be obtained separately at a later date after the spring thaw cycle has revealed any issues. Those quotes will be brought before the Council after they have been obtained. The Street Pavement Management Program which is part of the Capital Improvement Plan for the City has $444,869 budgeted for the 2019 street maintenance projects.. The City Engineer estimates project costs for the seal coating, fog sealing, striping and traffic control for the 2019 Street Maintenance Project to be $243,846.33 while the CIP estimate was $301,948.64. The crack filling and patching portions of the project have a budget of $142,920.36 within the CIP, and will be administered under separate contracts and/or be completed by City Public Works staff. The City Engineer will have a hard copy of the full plans and specifications available at the meeting, but due to the size of the document, they were not printed and included in each individual packet.
