Staff recommends approval of the low quote from Asphalt Concrete Solutions, Inc. (ACS) for completion of
an asphalt patching project.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Staff has identified three areas that are in need of patching due to the condition of the pavement. One of
these areas is in the Kittredge Crossings development while the other two are in the Walesch Estates
development. These patches are too large for City staff and equipment to complete efficiently.
Staff has requested and received quotes from ACS and Omann Brothers in the amount of $39,274.00 and
$39,947.90 respectively. Staff is recommending to have ACS complete the project. Funding for the project
will come from the Pavement Management Fund and is within the 2019 budgeted amount of $64,890.00.
The Public Works Subcommittee was presented with this information at its August 21, 2019 meeting and
recommended that it be placed on consent agenda.

Minor landscape repairs, sod restoration, permits, bonds, testing, engineering & surveying, dewatering, removal of hazardous
materials, unforeseen sub -terrain failure, damage to unmarked electric, sewer, water, Irrigation systems, telephone lines,
cable T.V. lines located on or near the construction area, It will be at no expense to the contractor to move or tow vehicles In
the construction zone after the Job has been scheduled. If area Is not accessible due to any of these exclusions a re -
mobilization charge may be assessed. 1.5% slope Is required for proper drainage, If the slope is less than 1.5% ACS will not
be responsible for any ponding of water, ACS will not guarantee sealcoating from failure due to tree coverage, tree sap or low
areas that hold water.
