BACKGROUNDIJUSTIFICATION:
The City is currently advertising on the City website for the vacant Advisory Commission seats as
approved by City Council on September 23 and October 14. We have received one application for the
Parks a nd Recreation Com m issio n. City staff is looking for direction; set interview fo r that applicant o r
wait to interview with the re -appointment process.
As per the City Code the terms of appointed commissioners expire on February 28, 2013 with
reappointments or new commissioners being seated for the respective first meeting in March. The table
below summarizes the openings on each commission due to expiring terms and vacant seats.

The City Council is seeking applicants for appointment to its various advisory commissions for four (4)
year terms beginning in March 2014. Information regarding the responsibilities of the respective
advisory commissions is available on their we page listed under the City Government and in Chapter 3
of the City Code, which is available under City Documents. The number of positions to be considered for
appointment is listed below and may include sitting Commissioners applying to be reappointed.

All persons applying for appointment to an advisory commission must complete an application form and
submit it to the City Clerk by February 4, 2014. The City Council will schedule interviews with all
applicants and make appointments at their meeting on February 24, 2014.

NOTICE OF ADVISORY COMMISSION OPENINGS
The Otsego is seeking applicants for appointments to the Planning Commission,
Parks and Recreation Commission, Police Commission and Heritage
Preservation Commission. The term of each appointment is four (4) years
beginning March 1, 2014. Information regarding these advisory commissions
and the appointment process, including obtaining an application form, may be
obtained on the City's website at www.c1.otsego,.rnn.us or by contacting the City
Clerk, Otsego City Hall 13400 got Street NE, Otsego MN 55330 or calling
763.441.4414. Applications for appointment to an advisory committee must be
received by 4:30PM on February 4, 2014 in order to be accepted and
considered. The City Council will interview all applicants on February 2014 at
Pm.
