Tbielen to fill the vacant Finance Assistant lI position

The existing Finance Assistant II position was vacated September 6, 2013 following the resignation of
Susan Frisch. Recruitment of a replacement was authorized by the Council on September 23, 2013.
That recruitment process produced forty fere applications. Fire of those were interviewed and of two of
those were submitted for background and reference checks. On October 2, 2013 the Council
authorized the hiring of Nadine Inman to fill the open position.
Ms. Inman declined the position indicating that she could not work the schedule of work hours expected
by the City. Ms. T ielen, the other of the top two candidates was then contacted. She found the work
hours to be acceptable, the pay and prorated benefits to be acceptable, and indicated that if approved
by the city council, she would be willing to begin work on or about Monday November 18, 2013.
Ms. Thielen has a degree in Business Management and has governmental experience with Wright
Counter, Anoka Counter and the Minnesota Department of Revenue. She is currently employed as a
distribution analyst for Cargill in Monticello. She bolds certifications as ars assessor from the State
Department of Revenue and a registered appraiser from the State Department artment of Commerce.
