CITY OF OTSEGO
COUNTY OF WRIGHT, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE REGARDING SEWER
CONNECTIONS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Section 8-3-5 of the City Code (Sanitary Sewer — Connection
Requirements) is hereby amended to read as follows:
8-3-5: CONNECTION REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Any connection with a public sanitary sewer shall be performed consistent with the City
Engineering Manual (adopted MaFGh 4090 and subsequent revisiens)
B. The service pipe from the sewer main and the connections thereto shall be the property of
the consumer. The pipe must be protected and maintained by the consumer. In the event the
consumer fails to make any necessary repairs to the connections or pipe within twenty four
(24) hours after being notified to do so by the City, the City shall disconnect the premises
from City water.
C. The cost of all repairs and replacement of any plumbing or service pipes between the
property and the main City utility line(s) shall be borne entirely by the owner of the property
affected, and if such repair or replacement work is performed by the City, the cost of time
and material shall be assessed against the owner of the affected property.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and publication.
