IS A PU B L IG H EARING REQUIRED No No BAC R NDMUSTII+ICATI To assist the Public Works Department full time staff in performing snow removal services the City hires Winter Seasonal ars-call employees each year. The winter seasonal employee positions report on-call a needed between November mer and April. The hiring process included ten applicants of which four were interviewed and the three most qualified were submitted and passed background checks, driver's license checks, and pre-employment drug screening I recommend City council authorize the hiring of three seasonalon-call employees for the winter season of 2018-14 at a starting hourly wage of $14.50 per lour. All three of the applicants have previous municipal experience as part time employees. If approved, each employee will receive approximately eight hours of scheduled operator and safety training after which they will be assigned designated snow removal route and report to work on-call as needed. For comparison, in the winter season of 2012-13, in which we received more tli n average snowfall vents, the City Council authorized the hiring of three on-call employees. Two accepted the positions and performed approximately 200 total hours of service.
