City staff recommends the City Council approve an amendment to services agreement for the Safety
Management Program with Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA).

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Safety Committee has reviewed MMUA training frequency for the 2020 safety calendar, and is
recommending 8 (eight) site visits, which is consistent with the number of visits in 2019. Each of the site
visits are for 8 (eight) hours. The total cost for the Safety Management Program in 2020 is $8,000,
compared to $7,600 in 2019
The Safety Committee conducts other safety trainings including in-house staff specific training, interactive
safety videos from the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT), traffic management through
Circuit Training and Assistance Program (CTAP), 800 MHz radio training with Albertville Fire Chief Bullen, a
defensive driving course and others.
The MMUA visit frequency was reviewed at the August 21 Public Works Subcommittee meeting with
recommendation of approval.

AMENDMENT TO SERVICES AGREEMENT
Safety Management Program
Contract Date: September 17 2019 Contract Number: 187-2020
The services agreement entered into between Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association
(MMUA) and the City of Otsego (Otsego), dated September 12, 2018, contract number
187-2019, is amended as follows:
PART I, Section 1.
2.d. SCOPE OF SERVICES: Visit Otsego for 8 visits (approximately 8 hours in a one -
day visit) from January 1, 2020 until December 31, 2020. The visits will be made on
Otsego prernises unless circumstances lend a different location approved by Otsego
management.
PART II, Section 1.
1, DURATION: This Agreement shall remain in force from January 1, 2020 until
December 31, 2020 (the "expiration date"), as described in PART I, Section 1.
above.
PART III, Section 1.
1. COMPENSATION: For the services covered by this Agreement, Otsego shall
pay MMUA a fee of eight thousand dollars and 00 cents ($8,000.00) for the
annual period January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020. Such compensation shall
be due and payable according to the selected payment terms below.
Payment terms for the fees agreed to above shall be based on one of the
following options (select one):
❑ Annual Upfront Payment ($ 8,000.00)
❑ Quarterly Payments ($ 2,000.00 each)
For any term of less than twelve full calendar months, the fee shall be a portion
of the annual fee, pro -rated based on the number of calendar months or partial
calendar months in which the services were provided as a percentage of twelve
(12).
The parties hereby accept the terms of the Agreement as modified.
