RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO TER OTSEGO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
ESTABLISHING A COMPREHENSIVE PARI, TRAIL, AND RECREATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the City'a adopted Comprehensive Plan recommends that
a Comprehensive Traill and Park System Plan be prepared, and;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to address the recreation and non -
motorized transportation needs of Otsego residents, and;
WHEREAS, parks and trails generally improve the quality of
life, and;
WHEREAS, future trail construction will provide safe and
efficient connections between the City's activity centers, and;
WHEREAS, the City's parks and trails serve as a major tool in
promoting Otsego's identity, and;
WHEREAS, new development adds to the City,s park, trail and
recreational needs, and;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide a detailed examination of
the present and future park and trail needs of Otsego residents,
and;
WHEREAS, Otsego has established a Park and Recreation
Committee which identifies a level of park and trail planning
commitment, and;
WHEREAS, the establishment of a Comprehensive Park, Trail, and
Recreation Plan may aid in the acquisition of public funding,
grants, etc., and;

WHEREAS, the Otsego Planning Commission has held a public
hearing to gain citizen input on the Park, Trail and Recreation
Paan, and;
WHEREAS, the Otsego Planning Commission has.recommended that
the City Council approve the Park, Trail and Recreation Plan, and;
WHEREAS, the Otsego City Council agrees with findings and
recommendations of the Planning Commission, and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Otsego that:
1. the City Comprehensive Plan be and hereby is amended by
adding the Comprehensive Park, Trail and Recreation Plan
( NQvember,- 21 1992) as part of its official policy.
2. A copy of thin resolution be forwarded to the Wright
County Parks Department for their records.
