Call to Order 7:04 PM.
Roll Call: Toni Seroshek, Chris Wilson, Gail Anderson, Cara Husak and John Waldron.
City Council: absent.
1. Consider Agenda
Welcome John, SHPO Conference, Prairie Center Room Naming.
Added: Update needed to Beaudry Farm/Barn Poster. Agenda Approved.
2. Minutes Review
Minutes approved for October. Commissioner Cara made the first motion to approve.
Commissioner Gail seconded that motion.
3. Welcome John!
John interviewed for the OHPC open position with the city and was accepted that
evening. Congratulations!
4. Updates needed for the Beaudry Farm/Barn Poster
Kathy Beaudry attended the meeting and asked us to correct the Beaudry Meadows
Park sign. Her barn, the Pride of Otsego, is nowhere near that park. We will talk with
the Beaudrys (who are the "Beaudry Meadows" Beaudrys) to get a different picture and
fix the sign.
Kathy also mentioned interest in joining our HPC. Toni said she would send her the
application.
5. SHPO Conference
SHPO Conference was held on September 12-13, 2019 in St. Cloud, MN. As a CLG, the
OHPC is required to attend this conference.
Commissioner Cara had volunteered to go to the conference, reported out during this
meeting and represented the City of Otsego HPC during the event.
Three takeaways that the city of Otsego may be interested in:
1. St. Cloud Century Homes dedication
a. Recognizes homes 100 years or older

b. Honorary program accepted by the HPC
c. Partner with St. Cloud
d. Voluntary Program & carries no additional restrictions for the property
2. Community Education Marketing Plans for the HPC
a. City awarded CLG grant to update plan in 2019
b. Renewed emphasis on historic preservation within the city
c. Early implementation
i. Name Tags
ii. New HPC logo
iii. Letterhead
iv. FAQ Handout
v. City and property owner benefits
d. Strategies
i. Create recognizable branded identity for the HPC
ii. Position the HPC as the guardian and repository for the
neighborhood — based history
iii. Improve communications between HPC and its constituencies
iv. Establish HPC as the ultimate community resource for the
information of neighborhood preservation
e. Marketing Objectives
i. Raise Community awareness of the HPC, its purpose and process
ii. Educate the general public about the benefits of historic
preservation
iii. Establish the HPC as a vital resource for community preservation
and identity.
3. Heritage Preservation Awards
a. Celebrate City's Heritage
b. Recognizes people, businesses, and organizations who have made a
significant contributions to preserve St. Cloud's heritage
6. Prairie Center Room Naming
It was brought to the HPC to change the name of the 5 rentable rooms within the
Prairie Center. The group chose bodies of water within Otsego. Commissioner Chris
made the first motion to approve. Commissioner John seconded that motion.
Rentable rooms naming will be recommended to the Parks and Rec Manager Ross and
Mayor Jessica.
