Staff recommends approval for Hakanson Anderson to prepare plans and specifications for the 2020 Street
Maintenance Project.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City of Otsego, as part of the ongoing Street Management Program, completes an annual street
maintenance project to extend the useful life of the streets under the jurisdiction of the City. The 2020
Street Maintenance Project includes seal coating, fog sealing, and striping. The Street Management
Program which is part of the Capital Improvement Plan with a budget estimate of $90,062. Attached is an
exhibit showing streets which are currently proposed for maintenance in 2020.
Quotes for any larger patching that exceeds City Staff's capabilities and crack filling will be obtained
separately at a later date after the thaw has revealed any issues. Those quotes will be brought before
council after they have been obtained and are estimated at $145,780.
With approval to complete, the City Council should expect plans and specifications available for approval
and authorization for advertisement for bid in February 2020. The project could potentially be awarded to
the lowest responsible bidder in March 2020.
