Elk River Am bulance Presentation by Steve Dittbenner Ambulance Coordinator. Elk river Ambulance Coordinator Steve Dittbenner reviewed the history of the Elk River Ambulance service. He stated that following recent meetings with City Administrator Johnson a new service delivery model that includes an emergency response vehicle will begin in - April 2014. The addition of this emergency response vehicle that goes out before the ambulance will reduce response time by getting one emergency responder to the scene without laving to wait for an on call EMT to respond to the station, The Elk River Ambulance is funding two emergency response vehicles and has worked with Alllna to schedule paramedics to staff the vehicles. Mr, Dittbenner discussed the coordinating of 911 calls with Wright and Sherburne Counties, Allina, and Elk River Ambulance. Wright County dispatch supervisors were part of the meetings at which this change was discussed, Elk Ruler Fire Chief John Cunningham and Allina Medical services Ambulance Coordinator Bruce Hildebrandt were also present. All in favor. Motion carried. . City Council Rewrts and Updates. There was discussion ambulance servicer CM Heidner recommended the new ambulance program be highlighted in the Otsego View and the City Council recommended a joint meeting with the Wright County sheriff once the program is started. City Administrator Johnson stated they were planning to do so closer to actual program implementation in April. City Administrator stated Otsego residents living within eight minutes of an Elk Kiger fire station now qualify for the current openings for Elk River Firefighters. . Staff Reports and Udates. City Administrator Johnson said a RiverRider informational meeting will be held at Prairie Center on December 19 and also that City Engineer Wagner will be attending the Wright County Transportation meeting on November 19. Administrative Services Director Jordet stated Finance Assistant II Rhonda Thlelen will start November 20.
