City staff recommends the City Council approve the attached Resolution appointing additional Election
Judges for the 2020 General Elections.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Minnesota State Statute 20413.21, Subd. 2 requires the City Clerk to make the recommendation of election
judges to the City Council at least 25 days before an election. The attached Resolution gives City staff the
ability to use these election judges for the November 3 General Elections.

RESOLUTION NO: 2020-57
APPOINTING ADDITIONAL ELECTION JUDGES FOR 2020 ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, the General Elections are to be held on November 3, 2020, and,
WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 20413.21, Subd. 2 states that appointments shall be made at least 25
days before the election at which the election judges will serve, except that the appointing authority
may pass a resolution authorizing the appointment of additional election judges within the 25 days
before the election if the appointing authority determines that additional election judges will be
required,
WHEREAS, Election Judges are required to perform the election duties for these elections,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO, MINNESOTA:
1. The following persons are appointed as Election Judges and are to attend the necessary training
provided by Wright County and the City of Otsego in order to hold the position of Election Judge:
