BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Minnesota State Statute 203B.121, Subd. 1 requires the City to establish an Absentee Ballot Board. It is the
responsibility of the Absentee Ballot Board to accept and reject absentee ballots and other duties as
outlined in Minnesota State Statute 203B.121 Subd.2.
The City Council previously adopted Resolution 2020-33 establishing an Absentee Ballot Board. Due to
shortages of staffing and a significant number of absentee ballots, City staff is requesting additional
members be appointed to the Absentee Ballot Board.
