City staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution for advisory commission appointments.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City has four Advisory Commissions including: Planning; Parks and Recreation; Public Safety and
Heritage Preservation. On February 28, 2021, there will be ten expiring Commission seat appointments.
City staff advertised for Advisory Commission applicants through the City website and the Star News
beginning on December 14, 2020. The deadline to submit applications was January 15, 2021, with the City
receiving applications from 13 individuals. The City Council interviewed the candidates on February 11,
2021 and directed staff to prepare the attached resolution appointing applicants.

RESOLUTION NO: 2021-10
APPOINTING COMMISSIONERS TO ADVISORY COMMISSIONS.
WHEREAS, the City has established advisory commissions including the Planning Commission, Parks and
Recreation Commission, Heritage Preservation Commission and Public Safety Commission; and,
WHEREAS, individuals are appointed to serve on these advisory commissions in accordance with the City
Code and bylaws of each body and at the discretion of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the terms of several of the individuals appointed to these advisory commissions will expire
on February 28, 2021; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council must make appointments to the new terms of these advisory commission
positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO, MINNESOTA:
1. That the following appointments are hereby made to the respective City advisory commission:
Planning Commission
■ Pamela Black for term expiring February 28, 2025.
■ Richard Nichols for term expiring February 28, 2025.
■ Alan Offerman for term expiring February 28, 2025.
Heritage Preservation Commission
■ Gail Anderson for the term expiring February 28, 2025.
■ Toni Seroshek for the term expiring February 28, 2025.
Public Safety Commission
■ Dan Freiberg for the term expiring February 28, 2025.
■ Jim Breitbach for the term expiring February 28, 2025.
■ David Greeman for the term expiring February 29, 2024.
■ Mark Wolf (Alternate) for the term expiring February 28, 2025.
Parks and Recreation Commission
■ Angie Dehn for the term expiring February 28, 2025.
■ Laurie Jones for the term expiring February 28, 2025.
■ Corey Tanner (Alternate) for the term expiring February 28, 2025.
