COUNCIL WORKSHOP
February 8, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
Roll Call: Otsego City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp,
Councilmembers Vern Heidner, Tom Darkenwald and Dan Scharber.
Otsego Staff: City Administrator Michael Robertson.
Open Council Seat - Councilmembers discussed their concerns
with someone other than the residents picking the
Councilmember, the cost of a special election, the lack of
any pressing business and the concern for a unanimous choice.
They felt they could appoint the new Councilmember
immediately after the election in November rather than
waiting for January, 2011.
Mayor Stockamp, seconded by Councilmember Darkenwald, moved
to not appoint a Councilmember now, with the option remaining
to consider an appointment immediately if the situation chaDges. Carried 4-0.
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
