Call to order.
Mayor Jessica Stockamp called the meeting to order at 1:08 PM.
Roll Call: Mayor Jessica Stockamp; Councilmembers: Vern Heidner, Jason Warehime and Doug
Schroeder. Absent: Councilmember Tom Darkenwald.
Staff: Lori Johnson, City Administrator (left at 1:30 PM); Sheriff Joe Hagerty, Albertville Fire
Chief Tate Mills, Elk River Fire Chief John Cunningham and Rogers Fire Chief Brad Feist.
1. Discussion of Public Safe with Wright,County Sheriff.
The Council discussed emergency response to medical calls in Otsego. Chief Cunningham
briefed everyone on the upcoming changes to Elk River Ambulance response including the
addition of a chase car and a change in dispatch to Allina.
The Council asked about the level of medical training the Wright County deputies have. Sheriff
Hagerty indicated that they have first aid training at a minimum. He further stated there are 87
deputies and it is expensive to require First Responder certification for all deputies. There was
discussion about the desire to have the training and the level of training required in surrounding
departments. Chief Cunningham stated all Elk River police officers are required to have First
Responder certification. Chief Feist thought that was also required for the Rogers police
officers. Sheriff Hagerty stated he would take the discussion under advisement.
