HELD AT OTSEGO CITY HALL

MEMBERS PRESENT; SANDRA MICHAELSON, RUDY THIBODEAU, TOM CARTER,
TOM KEROWITZ, KATHIE DAVIS, ALVIN MCCLURE, JANE BARTHELD.
COUNCIL MEMBERS; STRUTHERS AND WENDELL, OFFICER ANSELMENT AND
HOWELL.
1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
COMMISSIONER MICHAELSON CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 7:30 PM.
2. CONSIDER 8-12-03 AGENDA
COMMISSIONER THIBODEAU MOTIONED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AND JANE
BARTHELD SECOND THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED.
3. APPROVAL OF 7-7-2003 MINUTES
BEFORE APPROVAL A CHANGE TO THE MINUTES, #4 OLD BUSINESS, CITY COUNCIL
WAS CHANGED TO CITY EMPLOYEES. COMMISSIONER MCCLURE MOTION TO
APPROVE THE MINUTES AND TOM CARTER SECOND THE MOTION.
4. OPEN FORUM
MS. LARSEN, REPORTER FROM THE STAR NEWS WAS PRESENT. SHE ASKED ABOUT WHAT
WE WANTED TO SEE AS COVERAGE FOR OUR COMMISSION.
TOM CARTER EXPRESSED HIS CONCERN ABOUT THE ATV'S THAT WERE SPEEDING
DOWN CO. ROAD 39. THE POLICE SAID THAT THEY DO GIVE OUT INFO ABOUT THE
ORDINANCES ON ATV'S IF THEY CATCH THEM. THE SECOND TIME THEY GIVE OUT
CITATIONS. BUT LAWS ARE REAL GRAY ON THIS SUBJECT.
5.OLD BUSINESS
A. SPEEDWAGON
IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO PUT SOME OF THE DATA IN THE NEWSPAPER. BUT IT MUST
BE SUBMITTED BY THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE WEDNESDAY PAPER
RUDY THIBODEAU OFFERED TO OVERLOOK THE DATA. CITY COUNCIL, THE
COMMISSION, AND POLICE SHOULD SEE THE DATA REPORTS.
AA. COMPLAINT FORM
THE FORM, THAT WAS CREATED FOR THE COMPLAINTS, WAS REVIEWED BY ALL.
SUGGESTIONS WERE; PUT A SPOT ON THERE FOR PHONE #S, AND FAX #S. ALSO TO
SPACE THE LINES OUT MORE.
AAA. GUNS IN THE CITY
GUNSHOTS WERE REPORTED IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. IT WAS DISCUSSED BY ALL AND
THE CONCLUSION WAS TO MAYBE HAVE A NO FIRE ZONE WITHIN THE CITY.
B. FESTIVAL
COMMISSIONER MICHAELSON OFFERED TO CONTACT JUDY AT CITE' HALL FOR
ORDINANCES ABOUT ATV'S AND SNOWMOBILES SO WE COULD HAVE THEM OUT AT
THE FESTIVAL FOR CITIZENS TO SEE
IT WAS ALSO SUGGESTED TO HAVE THE NEW COMPLAINT FORM OUT FOR
THE PUBLIC TO SEE AND USE IF NESS CARY.
6. NEW BUSINESS
COMMISSIONER DAVIS OFFERED TO WRITE UP A ARTICLE ON WHAT IS HAPPENING
IN THE POLICE COMMISSION.
NEW BUSINESS CONT.
IT WAS ALSO DISCUSSED THAT MAYBE THE WRIGHT CO. POLICE COULD
READ OUR SPEEDWAGON DATA IF FEASIBLE. THEY WOULD LOOK INTO THAT AND GET
BACK TO US.
COMMISSIONER THIBODEAU MOTIONED TO SET UP AN INFORMATIONAL DRUG
WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS, MAYBE IN OCTOBER. COMM. MICHAELSON SECONDS THE
MOTION.
COMM. MCCLURE MOTIONED TO HAVE A DISCUSSION ON NUCLEAR DISASTER
IN A FUTURE MEETING. BARTHELD SECOND THE MOTION.

COMM. CARTER MOTIONS TO ADJOURN, SECOND BY COMM. THIBODEAU. MOTION
