04-13-04 PSC MINMinutes of the April 13th Police Commission Meeting Members that attended; Jane Theisen, Sandra Michaelson, Alvin McClure, Rudy Thibodeau, Kathie Davis, Tom Carter, Tom Kerowitz. Council Members Struthers, Wendell, and Officers Mitchell @ Howell 1. Meeting Called to Order Commissioner Michaelson called meeting to order at 7:35pm. 2. Consider 5-11-2004 Agenda Alvin McClure motion to pass agenda, Kathie Davis second. Motion passed 3.Approval of April 13, 2004 minutes. Tom Carter motion to pass the minutes, Rudy Thibodeau second. Motion passed. 4. Open Forum No attendance 5. Old Business A. Discussion on how to proceed with mailbox placement. Council approved for us to come up with a specific plan on how we are going to proceed. Rudy suggested that he was willing to go to Elk River Post Office to see what there thoughts were on what we were doing. Also, it was suggested that we might want to take a poll from these citizens that are effected, to see what their feelings are about this plan of action. Sandra Michaelson to come up with a format on what we want to say to the citizens. B.Discussion on Peddlers Ordinance Kathie Davis motion that we have a "No Peddlers Ordinance," with the exception of school age children of Otsego area schools representing a non profit organization. Such as Girl Scouts, Boy scouts, Sports, etc. Tom Carter second the motion. Motion passed 6-0. C. Safe Houses Someone to call SGT. Wold to see how to proceed. Report back at next meeting. 6. New Business The Council members approved that Tom Carter and Sandy Michaelson to serve four more years on the commission. Tom Kerowitz suggested that we have a Safety Booth along with our Police Commission booth at the Otsego Festival. Discuss more about this at next meeting. Need to develop a Police Commission card to give to citizens so they know when they can come to a Police Commission meeting and express their concerns. Also to start an Emergency Plan for the city. 7. Adjournment Rudy Thibodeau motion to adjourn, Alvin McClure second. Motion passed. y
