OTSEGO CITY HALL

The City of Otsego Heritage Preservation Commission has planned a special event for
you. Everyone who has roots in Otsego or an interest in the history of our City is urged
to attend. This invitation is being sent to everyone we know of who might be interested. If
you know of anyone else who would enjoy this, please invite them for us.
We will display pictures and other things we have collected. A brief program will be
presented at 2 PM and light refreshments will be served. You will have time to visit with
one another and exchange memories.
If you have pictures, documents or other information to share, please bring them. We
will copy documents and pictures at the meeting so that you may keep your originals.
If you need transportation, please call any one of us and we will try to arrange a ride for
you.
To be sure we have plenty of refreshments for you, please call one of us by October 15, if
you can come.

MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
OTSEGO HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION
A special meeting of the Otsego Heritage Preservation Commission was
held on October 17, 1995 at 7 PM at the City Hall to finalize our plans for
our first OTSEGO HERITAGE DAY to be held on October 22, 1995 from 1 PM to 4 PM
at the Otsego City Hall.
Members present: Joy Swenson, Chair; Elaine Norin, Arlene Holen,
Joanie Nichols, Norman Schwanbeck and Frieda Lobeck.
Members absent: Janet Bridgland
We will have exhibits of pictures and other items collected over the
years and those which had been exhibited at our first Otsego Festival in 1991.
We will have 4 printed items to give out such as a copy of the Otsego and Lily
Pond poem, acquisition form, a brochure and current program. We expect to have
video people coming to make a record of our day. Someone will take pictures
of family groups and others. We need a form indicating the people being photo-
graphed and also make a record of any pictures given us for safekeeping so we
will know who they are and belong to.
We need a guest book which guests will sign with names and address for
future reference. We need name tags for commission members and also tags for
our guests with family name on them.
We have an old diary which was given us recording daily events in the
1870's to display. We have a"bookof poetry published by A.B. Miles Whitcomb
and we hope to ask Bruce Rask if we can exhibit the old Bible he found in the
torn -down Methodist Temple in our area.
We will serve light refreshments -- buns with cold cuts, condiments,
bars, cookies, coffee and cider. We'll each be responsible for bringing an
ample supply of the bars and cookies. Norman will be late but promised to
bring his share.. Elaine will handle the buns and cold cuts.

We hope to have Mayor Freske present to greet and welcome our guests
and that the City Council and other Officials will also be with us.
We have to arrange for table set up, arrange for the microphone use;
someone to greet our guests at the door and direct them to the guest book
for signing in and to the displays.
There being no other details to come up or discuss, we adjourned with
hopeful thoughts of a great first Otsego Heritage Day at 8:30 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Frieda Lobeck
