City of Otsego - Heritage Preservation Commission
Thursday, January 22,1998
CHAIR Joy Swenson called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM. Joanie Nichols, Frieda
Lobeck, Elaine Norin, Arlene Holan and Norm Schwanbeck were present. Ron Black
and Janet Bridgland were absent (both excused). Council Member Suzanne Ackerman
attended.
FRIEDA MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER, 1997
MEETING. SECONDED BY ARLENE. MOTION CARRIED.
Elaine passed out a list of book ideas and inquired if the commission wanted her to work
on another book. The consensus was yes.
Norm gave a report on sales and inventory for the "Otsego - in the Beginning" and the
"Otsego Cemetery" books. Norm said he would provide written reports in the future that
could be attached to the minutes.
Norm said that John Pepin never received the copy of "Otsego - in the Beginning " that
was mailed to him.
ELAINE MOVED THAT THE LOST BOOK BE REPLACED AT THE EXPENSE OF
THE OHPC. SECONDED BY ARLENE. MOTION CARRIED.
The Park and Rec Commission's decision to not pursue moving the old town hall was
discussed. The Otsego Vision Committee had donated $1200.00 for the concrete slab for
this building.
ELAINE MOVED WE REQUEST THE COUNCIL TO RECONSIDER THE USE OF
THE $1200.00 TO BE FOR BOTH COMMISSIONS USES. SECONDED BY NORM.
MOTION CARRIED.
The commission decided to discuss this in a joint meeting with the Park and Rec
Commission and the OHPC to be arranged in February.
Norm moved to adjourn, Elaine seconded. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 PM.
