Chair Norm Schwanbeck called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Joanie Nichols, Frieda
Lobeck, Elaine Norin, Ron Black, Joy Swenson, Arlene Holen and alternate Janet
Bridgland were present. Council Member Suzanne Ackerman attended. Robert Vogel
attended.
RON MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY, 1998
MEETING. SECONDED BY ELAINE. MOTION CARRIED.
Norm gave an updated written report on sales and inventory for the "Otsego - in the
Beginning" and the "Otsego Cemetery" books.
ELAINE MOVED TO CHANGE THE NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 1998 OHPC
MEETING DATES TO NOVEMBER 19 AND DECEMBER 17. SECONDED BY
JANET. MOTION CARRIED.
Robert Vogel will have a draft or partial draft of the context study in April and another in
June. It will be forwarded to the State for comments. He'd like us to schedule a meeting
the first or second week in June after the State has sent comments. He can rewrite the
context study and submit the final by the end of July. Robert Vogel and Norm planned to
meet at 2:00 PM before the next meeting on April 23,1998. Robert Vogel will write a
report for fiscal year ending September 30,1997 for our CLG Status.
RON MOVED THAT WE NOT PARTICIPATE WITH A FLOAT IN THE ELK
RIVER PARADE. SECONDED BY FRIEDA. MOTION CARRIED.
Elaine reported the May issue of the Otsego View will contain 4 pictures from the 1915
Memorial Day parade in Otsego.
Arlene interviewed Edith Kuchli. She is 87 years old and had lived in the old Ingersoll
Brick house. She loaned us thirty-two pictures to copy.
Norm will check if City Hall is available on October 4 or October 11 for Heritage Day.
Janet moved to adjourn, Joy seconded. The meeting adjourned at 9:05 PM.

5.4. Approve Arlene Holen to move to regular Heritage Preservation Member from IST
Alternate Member

Arlene Holen asked to be lst Alternate and was approved for same,
but now with Janet Bridgland asking and being appointed to alternate,
she has consented to be a regular Heritage Preservation Commission
member again to fill Janet Bridglands regular Heritage member
position.
This is just to keep our records straight and bring it to the
Council for changes. The Heritage Preservation Commission has already
approved this change.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Arlene Holen as Regular Heritage Preservation Commission
Member from 1st alternate position.
