08-26-99 OHPC MINCity of Otsego - Heritage Preservation Commission Thursday, August 26. 1999 Chair Ron Black called the meeting to order at 7:05 PIN/I. Joanie Nichols, Frieda Lobeck, Elaine Norin, Norm Schwanbeck and Arlene Holen were present. Joy Swenson was absent (excused) and alternate Janet Bridgland was absent. Council member Suzanne Ackerman attended. ELAINE MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE JULY 22, 1999 MEETING. SECONDED BY ARLENE. MOTION CARRIED. Heritage Day is reserved on the city calendar for October 3, 1999. Elaine handed out the job descriptions to the commission members for discussion and adjustments were made for some of the assignments. The consensus was for another slide show. Elaine will ask Jacqui Rongli's opinion for the content. Bert at River Valley Lumber has not provided Ron with an estimate to stabilize the Old Town Hall. Ron suggested having the roof removed, dismantling the rest of the building and storing it until we have a plan for it. NORM MOVED TO DISASSEMBLE THE OLD TOWN HALL, STORE IT AND REASSEMBLE LATER AT A DESIGNATED SPOT AND IN THE MEANTIME PURSUE AREAS TO GET FUNDS. SECONDED BY FRIEDA. MOTION CARRIED UNANAMOUSLY. Copies of the city General Fund Expenditures Budget for OHPC were handed out. Actual costs for 1997 and 1998 were shown along with proposed 1999 and 2000 budgets. Actual 1999 costs through June 30 were also shown. The amounts in the proposed 2000 budget for total personal services (1,291.00), total supplies (800.00) and printing & publishing (1,000.00) under other services and charge were the same as 1999. We will ask for $115.00 for dues and memberships, $600.00 for education/training/conferences, $8,000.00 for contracted services and $600.00 for miscellaneous. This would bring the total other services and charges amount to $10.315.00 and the total service activity amount to $12,406.00. NORM MOVED TO REQUEST THE OHPC 2000 BUDGET FOR A TOTAL SERVICE ACTIVTY AMOUNT OF $12,406.00. SECONDED BY FRIEDA. MOTION CARRIED, Frieda submitted an updated written book report. A copy is attached. Norm moved to adjourn, Frieda seconded. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM. We meet again on Thursday evening September 23, 1999 at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall.
