"Woman in the Wilderness" has been typed and will be for sale. There won't be a slide show this
year. People will visit and look at pictures. Elaine will ask Mayor Fournier to speak. Ron Black

The remainder of the meeting was spent with Rob Snavely showing us how to use the scanner.
Several of us enlarged and copied old photographs. Rob answered questions and suggested ways
of saving files.
Elaine moved to adjourn, Frieda seconded. The meeting adjourned at 10:00 PM.
We meet again on Thursday evening October 28, 1999 at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall.

Dear Member,
Recently, we received either your first-time application or your renewal for membership with
the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions. On behalf of the NAPC, I would like to take a
moment to say thank you and let you know how much we appreciate your support. The involvement of
every member, whether a commission, an individual, an organization or an agency, is vital to the
success of our organization and its ability to best serve the preservation community.
In the coming year we look forward to bringing you helpful information and "news you can use"
through The Alliance Review. We are planning statewide assistance teams for improving the work of
local review commissions, special publications, and cooperative education projects with the National
Park Service, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the National Conference of State
Historic Preservation Officers. We hope you will be in touch with us to let us know what is happening
in your community and to tell us what we can do to assist you in your preservation efforts.
Again, our sincere thanks, and welcome to the National Alliance!
Sincerely,
6
