12-16-99 OHPC MINCity of Otsego - Heritage Preservation Commission Thursday, December 16, 1999 Chair Ron Black called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Joanie Nichols, Frieda Lobeck, Elaine Norin and Arlene Holen were present. Norm Schwanbeck, Joy Swenson and Alternate Janet Bridgland were absent. Council member Suzanne Ackerman was in the building and available but was attending another meeting (joint IDA-EDAAC). ELAINE MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 18, 1999 MEETING. SECONDED BY ARLENE. MOTION CARRIED. Under old business the memo from Mike Robertson dated November 30, 1999 on the HPC 2000 budget was discussed. In reference to declining our request of $8,000.00 for contracted services, the memo stated if the HPC had a specific proposal, the Council would be happy to consider funding it. Ron responded on December 14, 1999 stating our specific proposal was to do what the OHPC is charged to do in the ordinance. We need money for a professional analysis to see if the Peavey/McDonald house should be designated for historic preservation. There was no news on the old town hall. Correspondence was received from MHS regarding grant applications and the MHS Grants manual for 2000. The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota had acknowledged receipt of our dues. Frieda and Elaine submitted an updated written book report. A copy is attached. Arlene moved to adjourn, Frieda seconded. The meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM. We meet again on Thursday evening January 28, 2000 at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall.
