Dan Licht has prepared an outline of the process for designating an historic preservation district regarding the Peavey/McDonald house and old town hall site. Copies will be available for us next week at City Hall. Ron suggested we divide tasks between four sites; Peavey/McDonald house, parsonage, old town hall/former school and the ferry site. Norm will describe the buildings, Ron will list the legal descriptions and addresses and Elaine will write about the significance of the structures. Daytime pictures are needed. After we collect this information, we'll choose from the zoning ordinance reasons that qualify this area for historic preservation. Frieda submitted an updated written book report. A copy is attached. Ron will write a letter to the editor of Otsego View and mention we need a new alternate member for the OHPC. Elaine submitted a rough draft of a letter to those interested in OHPC and Heritage Day. The plan is for the letter to be sent September 1, 2000 with a six week response time.
