07-26-01 OHPC MINCity of Otsego - Heritage Preservation Commission Thursday, July 26, 2001 Chair Joy Swenson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Joanie Nichols, Elaine Norin, Arlene Holen, and Frieda Lobeck were present. Sharon Carter joined the group at the McDonald/Peavey House for that portion of the meeting only. Norm Schwanbeck was absent. Council member Jerry Struthers was present.. The group drove to the McDonald/Peavey house. The occupants gave a tour of the house and provided some information about changes they knew about. The group returned to City Hall after the tour to continue the meeting. ELAINE MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE JUNE 28, 2001 MEETING. SECONDED BY FRIEDA. MOTION CARRIED. Frieda submitted an updated written book report. A copy is attached. Joy said that Charlie Nelson (from Minnesota Historical Society) was sent a letter about the old town hall. We are waiting to hear when he can look at it. OHPC members and Jerry Struthers would like copies of the Elk River Heritage Preservation Commission updates. Elaine will make copies for the commission members of the information she provided to Dan Licht regarding the cemetery. Joy talked to City Hall about Heritage Day. September 23 is available. Joy will check with Maureen Galvin (of Wright County Historical Society) about pictures of schools in Otsego. Elaine will continue to look for pictures of Otsego. Joy will check if there are people outside the commission that would be willing to serve on the committee for Heritage Day. Joanie will send a thank you note to the occupants of the McDonald/Peavey house for allowing us to tour. the house. She will also send a get well card to Sharon Carter. Elaine moved to adjourn, Frieda seconded. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM. We meet again on Thursday evening August 23, 2001 at 7:00 PM at City Hall.
