Chair Joy Swenson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Joanie Nichols, Sharon Carter, Arlene
Holen, Elaine Norin and Frieda Lobeck were present. Council member Jerry Struthers was
present.
FRIEDA MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 27, 2001 MEETING.
SECONDED BY ARLENE, MOTION CARRIED.
Frieda submitted an updated written book report. A copy is attached.
Joy gave an update on the Elk River HPC and provided a copy of their agenda for August 9, 2001,
and minutes of July 16, 2001. Maps were attached for planning issues.
Joy thanked Arlene and Frieda for organizing the dedication on September 23, 2001, of the bench
and plaque in the cemetery in memory of Ing Roskaft and all the veterans buried there.
Joy will talk to Dan Licht regarding the historic preservation designation progress for the
Cemetery and see if he can attend our next meeting.
A children's chore day is scheduled September 30, 2001 at the Stork House in Rockford.
Children will participate in chores children did 100 years ago.
Elaine is looking for someone to copy information from the Wright County census records.
Elaine moved to adjourn, Sharon seconded. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 PM.
We meet again on Thursday evening October 25, 2001 at 7:00 PM at City Hall.
