Chair Elaine Norin called the meeting to order at 7:08 P.M., Sharon Carter, Arlene Holen, Elaine
Norin and Frieda Lobeck were present. Council member Jerry Struthers was present.
ARLEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MARCH 28, 2002 MEETING AS
PRINTED. SECONDED BY FRIEDA. MOTION CARRIED.
Frieda submitted an updated written book report. A copy is attached.
THE LETTER TO THE CEMETERY ASSOCIATION WAS REVIEWED. SUGGESTED
CHANGES WERE MADE. ELAINE MOVED TO ASK THE CITY STAFF TYPE THE
LETTER ON CITY LETTERHEAD AND MAIL. FRIEDA SECONDED. MOTION
CARRIED.
The decision was made that the color of the 3 -fold brochure will be light blue, 100 will be
printed and placed on the table in the hallway.
Elaine discussed the review of the storage boxes at the end of the hallway. The Commission
decided to designate the last 1/2 -hour of each meeting to review the contents of a box.
Elaine will follow with Joy to determine if the sheet protectors have been ordered.
City Ordinance No. 94-9, section 20-75-3, states Heritage Preservation Commission members
must reside within the City of Otsego.
Elaine questioned if the Commission should continue the subscription to the National Alliance of
Preservation Commission Review. Arlene moved to continue. Frieda seconded. MOTION
In the fall there will be a city festival (Great River Road Festival). Everyone agreed the Heritage
Commission should participate.
CLG Grants Catalog was discussed. A letter was produced that indicated there is additional
money available. Grant money could possibly be used for transcription of tapes.

Frieda move to adjourn, Sharon seconded. The meeting adjourned at 9:23 P.M.
We will meet again on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at 6:30 P.M. at City Hall.
