RECOMMENDATION:
City staff recommends approval of the quote from Envirotech Services Inc. to provide dust coating of
various gravel roads.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Public Works Street Department has contracted in the past for dust control application to gravel
roads within the city as defined in the "Dust Control Policy" adopted by resolution in 2005. 1 have
received a quote from Envirotech to provide the service and estimate the total cost of the project to be
$16,172.80. The general fund portion of the project is estimated at $13,400, the 70th Street portion is
estimated at $2,231 and will be funded from the 701h Street improvement project, and resident
reimbursements are estimated at $750. Envirotech has been providing dust coating services to Otsego
for many years and has a good reputation. The Public Works sub -Committee discussed the 2014 dust
control project at their May 8, 2014 meeting and directed.the item be placed on the May 27th City
Council meeting consent agenda for consideration. If approved the work is tentatively scheduled to be
completed on May 28th.
