City staff recommends City Council approve hiring of Tammi Vaith for the Utility Billing position.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City budgeted for 2022 the addition of two part time positions, Utility Billing and a Finance Assistant.
After staff discussion, it was recommended to Administrative Sub-Committee and the City Council to create
one full time position of Utility Billing instead of two separate positions.
The City began recruitment on January 25th, the City received an overwhelming amount of response to the
position, with a total of 90 applicants. After scoring, the City interviewed 5 individuals in the first round,
and then 3 individuals for final interviews. Staff unanimously felt the best candidate for the role was Tammi
Vaith. City Staff have offered and the applicant has accepted the position, at Pay Grade 6, Step 1.
To further support the Finance Department within the City, staff is recommending the hiring of Tammi
Vaith for the position of Utility Billing. The applicant has undergone an interview, reference inquiry, and
successfully passed a background check.
